Well, the divisions are out. Michigan and Ohio State are not in the same one, which could have been good, but failed.

Why? Simply put, with the rules the Big Ten is going to institute, they’ve turned The Game into The Exhibition. The Big Ten decided, according to some reports that I’ve read, to have only inter-division games to decide who goes to the Big Ten playoff game. Why does this affect The Game? Simply put, it has become irrelevant. Playing at the end of the season, The Game will no longer determine anything but bragging rights between the states. More often than not, the division winners will have already been decided.

Ready to hear something that makes it worse? Let’s say that both Michigan and Ohio State are the division winners. We’ll be getting to see the two teams twice in a season! Great, right? Well, not really. Since the divisions have been decided in this example, the first game is not only meaningless, but neither team is going to put everything on the table. Neither team is going to tip its hand for the championship game for a throw-away. Both teams will want to win, obviously, but the coaches will pull punches in hopes of having something to surprise their adversary. So The Game becomes even more unimpressive, and worse, the fans that paid good money (I’ve seen UM/OSU single tickets as high as $3,000) will get drudgery in a game that used to be the most exciting game of the year almost every year.

I love the Big Ten expansion. I love splitting into two divisions. Heck, you could have even put Michigan and Ohio State into different divisions, you just would have had to move The Game to an earlier week. True, it still would not have an impact on the end of the season, but it could be construed as a ‘true test’ for both seasons early in the year. For all the traditionalists that insist The Game is the last game of the regular season, then you have to accept that the two teams are in the same division to make the game relevant.

Want to hear something scary? Michigan versus Michigan State will be a bigger, more important game that Michigan/Ohio State now…

ANN ARBOR,MI–  Through all the crap that has happened to coach Rod and the Michigan program,through the losing seasons. All the upsetting games the last couple seasons, could this be the year they turn it around?

Experts say that Michigan will have another struggling season before we actually get there. Yes we are young! But very talented. As for me I believe this will be a turning point, this season I believe we will achieve 8-9 wins.  This might sound crazy to fans but coach Rod will be coach of the year for the Big Ten. Just my thoughts, but thats what I think, I believe in my team.

Incoming freshman and punter/kicker Will Hagerup told me, “We will have a better year for sure, the team is a lot stronger so far.”

ALL IN FOR MICHIGAN! GO BLUE!!!!!!!

ANN ARBOR,MI–  The Big Ten championship game is set! It will be held in the Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.  Next year Nebraska will become part of the Big Ten making that a total of 12 teams and two divisions, now will be able to have the Championship game we have always wanted, it will be the 1st conference championship game in Big Ten history.

Also Michigan/Ohio St will continue to play each other as well as Michigan St. The Michigan/Ohio rivalry game might have to change as you know they always play at the end of November.  Even though they will have two divisions, the wolverines will continue to have there rivalry games with Ohio Stand Michigan St.

With rivalries in the Big Ten, like the Ohio St/Michigan, Michigan St/Michigan will they break the rivalries up? The Michigan/Ohio St game is better then Christmas for fans of both.  Michigan and Ohio St might be left in the same division so they can play each other every year in November like they always have.

Michigan has to big rivalries, one against Michigan St and Ohio St. Penn St has become more of a rivalry.  ”There’s a lot to think about geographically; there’s a lot to think about competitively; they’ll tell us what it is and we’ll go from there,” U-M football coach Rich Rodriguez said. “Either way it works, we’re going to play (Ohio State) every year, we’re going to play Michigan State every year. I’m sure every school will have maybe two rivalries, no matter how it works out. We have our two there.”

How would you split the teams up? would you keep those rivalry teams together?

For now they are the only team that has accepted, but soon the Big Ten will want to expand to 16 teams.  The University will enter the Big Ten play in 2012.  Now with 12 teams the Big Ten, we will be able to break off into two, six team divisions. This will give us a Championship game that we have always wanted.

The Cornhuskers are not known as a powerhouse school in football like Michigan, but will be a great addition to the Conference and in my opinion another great football school in the conference. They have had there seasons and lately haven’t had a great season, but they are not no pushover team, they are for real and I am excited to see this match up with the wolverines.

So welcome Nebraska to the Big Ten!  GO BLUE

Bringing in a team like Texas would create another real solid team in the Conference  on top of Michigan, Ohio St, Penn St, Iowa, Wisconsin. Texas is already the highest in the country in revenue, because of its most tv appearances every year.

I think if they were goin to bring in a team, it should be a team from the east coast somewhere. Texas is really not in the area of the Big Ten schools. If I was to come up with a team, my choices would be Missouri, or a school from the Big East Conference. Maybe Pitt, or Syracuse or another team in the Big East. It makes since having a school back east, but to have Texas Longhorns in our conference doesn’t make sense. To me Notre Dame would be the best fit, only being an hour or so from Ann Arbor, and being close to any other schools. But the chance of that happening is slim.

My thoughts our they will bring in a school that is close, and I think they will bring in Cincinnati since they are in Ohio and are close to every other school. Bringin in the Bearcats would bring in a decent football team, but not a powerhouse.

What our your thoughts fans on the Big Ten maybe adding Texas?

Also there were talks on Cincinnati, but as for now nobody really knows what is goin to happen and what team they will bring int0 our conference.
