RB Brandon Minor headlines out of three Big Ten runningbacks for the watch list of the 2009 Doak Walker Award. Minor who had earned Big Ten honorable mention last season had run the ball for 533 rushing yards on 103 carries and nine rushing touchdowns. He also added five receptions for 59 yards and two scores. Minor carried the ball a career-high 24 times for 155 yards and scored a personal-best three TDs at Purdue last season.
Senior Defensive End Brandon Graham is on a preseason list out of 30 candidates of the nations best defensive ends for the 2009 Ted Hendricks Award, this will be his 2nd season that graham has been selected to this.
Graham eighth in career sacks (19) and forced fumbles (five) at Michigan. He has recorded 40 percent of his career stops behind the line of scrimmage. Graham has 74 tackles, 30 TFLs, 19 sacks, two fumble recoveries and five forced fumbles during his three-year career.
5th year senior Punter Zoltan mesko , who enters his third year as a starter in 2009, he is on the  watch list for the Ray Guy award for his 3rd straight season, he is one of nine guys on the list. A 2008 semifinalist for the nation’s top punter award, Mesko was named to the Playboy Magazine All-America Team. He was a first-team All-Big Ten selection last season after leading the conference and finishing 19th nationally in punting average 42.95 avg.
