2010 Season opener-Uconn Huskies

by admin on August 2, 2009

UConnIt is final, Michigan Football will host the University of Connecticut Football team in next years season opener in the Big House! The two teams who have never played each other in a game,  will get the chance to play each other next season. The Huskies who are in the Big East Conference  went 9-4 last season.  The schools agreed to a two game deal, 2010 Michigan will host Uconn and in 2013 Michigan will play at Rentschler Field in Connecticut.  To me this is a good thing for football, its good to see other teams from different conferences meet up and get the chance to play each other, teams that you wouldnt ever think would get the shot to play anther team outside the conference. So my thoughts our, I love it! I think it will be good. What are your thoughts fans?

I dont know how I feel about it. I mean we are trying to rebuild back to dominance, so building confidence against a smaller school is good. But im hoping that we will be in contention for a bcs bowl game by 2013, how is a game against UCONN going to look in connecticut. I just hope their not wasting their time.

I think if you want to be considered a “big boy”, you have to play the “big boys”. We aren’t even scheduling big boys yet, let alone playing them. I do see us in bcs bowl contention by 2010-2011 though, not as far away as 2013. We need to step up and play SOMEBODY, not these 2nd rate/mac teams if we are to gain national respect.
